This situation does not affect the town's 911 dispatch service or police operations. Currently, telephone calls to the township's main number, (732) 583-4200, are being answered one at a time by the receptionist and if the person is unavailable, she will take written messages. As a result, it may take a little longer for the phone to be answered if several calls come in at once. Callers may wish to hang up and try again in a few minutes. "The township is making every effort to repair the system as quickly as possible," explains Aberdeen Township manager Joseph Criscuolo.
