Aberdeen Township water department, serving customers in CLIFFWOOD AND CLIFFWOOD BEACH is advising customers to boil water for a period of 1 minute, before drinking over the next 48 hours. Customers should boil their water for one minute for the following: drinking, cooking or baking, making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula or food, mixing juices or drinks, feeding pets and all other consumption. Water does not have to be boiled for the following activities: showering, washing dishes or clothes. The MIDDLESEX treatment plant experienced minor flooding as a result of heavy rains from last nights storm which may have impacted the treatment process. While the Company awaits the results of tests taken on its water supply, it is recommending customers boil all water used for consumption purposes. Periodic updates may be obtained on the TOWNSHIPS website at www.aberdeennj.org or by calling 732-566-2054.
