"I became involved in local government ten years ago, holding the elected position of councilman for the period of 1990 thru 1993. The impetus at that time, and which holds true today, was to determine how I could best direct my energies in making Aberdeen a great place in which to live. For me, it was by serving on the town's council. I currently hold the position of Mayor, with my term expiring at the end of 2001. Being Mayor gives me the opportunity to make the most of my ability to work with people, build consensus, bring leadership to the position which heretofore was lacking and ultimately pool the talents of many individuals within the township on various projects and committees. We have a wealth of resources, most notably our residents, who just want the opportunity to contribute to the terrific progress that we're making."
