Departments are listed alphabetically. Services provided by each department are briefly described and may be accessed by clicking on the department. Please be aware that only recipients who have the words "Direct Mail" by their name have their own mailbox. All other mail is sent to a central township mailbox where it is then printed and distributed to the individual or department to which it is addressed. Confidential communications should not be sent via this means.

Animal Control:
If you are experiencing problems with wild animals or domestic strays, call the Animal Control Officer. Do not attempt to capture the animal on your own.

Construction Department
The Construction Department is the department to call to obtain building permits and construction inspections.

Court Administrator
The Court Administrator is the office to contact regarding municipal court dates and the payment of court imposed fines.

Director of Finance
The Director of Finance's Office is responsible for the accounting, pre-auditing, control, receipt, custody and disbursement of township revenues. The Director is also responsible for all fiscal matters and financial policies of the township.

Engineer
The Engineering Department is responsible for preparing or causing to be prepared, plans, designs and specifications for public works and improvements undertaken by the township, either on force account or by public contract. It also maintains surveys, maps, plans, specifications, and control records with respect to public works and facilities owned or operated by the township.

Health & Vital Statistics
Call here if you need to report a Health Code violation or need to contact Animal Control. The department also is involved in recording births, marriages, and deaths in the township.

MAYOR
Mayor David Sobel is a member of the Council and presides over it's meetings.

Parks & Recreation
The Township Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the maintenance of Aberdeen's parks. Call to apply for a permit to hold an event in one of the parks.

Planning, Zoning, and Development The Department of Planning, Zoning, and Development reviews plans submitted to the planning board or zoning board of adjustment for site improvements, subdivisions, etc. and disseminates information to applicants and their representatives and advising them on township development requirements. This Department is also responsible for all administrative and legal enforcement of the township zoning ordinance, housing code, commercial property maintenance code, demolition ordinance and other development ordinances.

Police
The Aberdeen Police Department is an innovative agency that is dedicated to ensuring a safe and well-protected Township. The Department encourages Neighborhood Watch programs. The Department is thoroughly trained, professional and very much involved in the community. The Chief of Police is the executive head of the police department.IN AN EMERGENCY CALL 9-1-1

Public Works
The Aberdeen Department of Public Works is responsible for all matters relating to the construction, management, maintenance and operation of the physical properties of the township, other than office supplies, furniture, and equipment. Divisions within the Department of Public Works include Public Property, Sanitation and Recycling, Streets and Roads, Buildings and Grounds, Park Maintenance, Division of Utilities.

Tax Assessor
The Tax Assessor is the place to call if you have a question about the tax assessment on your property. It is also the Office to apply for property tax deductions and exemptions. The Assessor is also responsible for maintaining the current tax map of the township as a public record.

Tax Collector
The Office of the Tax Collector receives all monies assessed or raised by taxation or assessment for any purpose. The tax collector also maintains a current record of all tax title liens.

Township Clerk
The Township Clerk's Office is the office that issues licenses and certificates, maintains Council Meeting minutes, and certifies local elections.

Township Council
The Township Council is the Legislative Body of your local government. It is responsible for approving the Township budget and maintaining the Township's local ordinances.

The Manager, appointed by the council and fully accountable to it, is the municipal chief executive and administrative official.

Traffic Safety
The Traffic Safety Department is responsible for the flow of traffic in Aberdeen. It is the contact department for questions relating to speed limits, stop signs, traffic lights, no parking areas
