MARRIAGE LICENSE: If female applicant lives in NJ, apply in town where female lives. If female does not live in NJ, but male applicant does, apply in town where male lives. If both applicants live out of state but are getting married in NJ, apply in town where marriage ceremony will take place. Bride, groom, and a witness (18 years of age or older) must come IN PERSON to fill in the application. THREE DAY WAITING PERIOD before license can be picked up. All 3 need not return (someone else may pick up the license for the couple). BLOOD TESTS NOT REQUIRED. IF PREVIOUSLY MARRIED, MUST SHOW PROOF YOU ARE NO LONGER MARRIED. Please call at least one week before applying to find out what days and hours the Registrar will be in the office
