POLICE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE
Now that spring is here the Aberdeen Township Police Department
is renewing its campaign to encourage young people to comply with
state law requiring those under 17 years of age to wear helmets while
riding their bicycles and skateboards. Officers on patrol will
reward those young people wearing helmets with coupons redeemable
for a free sandwich at the McDonald’s restaurants located in
the township. According to state law, violators are subject
to an initial warning. Subsequent offenses could subject the
child’s parent or guardian to a fine from $25 to $100.
