COMMUNICATIONS

In an emergency dial 9-1-1.

Please DO NOT call the police to inquire if school is closed due to weather.  Check radio or television or call the MARSD.

The communications center is staffed by four full-time and two part-time dispatchers.  A dispatcher is on duty 24-hours a day.

RECORDS

The police records bureau is open 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday exclusive of holidays.

DETECTIVE BUREAU

The detective bureau is currently staffed by four detectives and one clerk/typist.  The bureau is responsible for the follow-up investigation of all crimes committed in the township.  Members of the bureau routinely work with other law enforcement agencies, including the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, FBI, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, and the Treasury Department.  The bureau is tasked with Megan’s Law compliance, evidence retention, liquor license and firearms applicant investigations, and Uniform Crime Reporting.
