ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP EXPANDS BULK REFUSE PICKUP
PROGRAM TO INCLUDE CARPETING
ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP (2/02/06) - Aberdeen
Township has expanded its program for the pickup of bulk household
items to include carpeting.
Under the revised program, residents can
arrange, by appointment, for the curbside pickup of carpeting and
other covered items by calling the Township's trash hauler Marpal
at (732) 542-2348 and specifying the type of item they want taken
away. Along with carpeting, covered items primarily include major
appliances, furniture and plumbing fixtures.
The items must be placed at the curb no earlier
than the evening before the pick up date. Bulk items cannot be put
out in advance.
The bulk pickup program does not apply to
building materials or other debris associated with renovation, expansion
or repair projects, or clean-outs of homes or apartments undergoing
a change of occupancy. Homeowners desiring to dispose of these items
have several options: request that their contractor cart away the
materials; transport the items on their own to the Monmouth County
Landfill on Shafto Road in Tinton Falls (call the facility at 732-918-0142
for further information); or contact any carting company listed
in the Yellow Pages to privately arrange for a dumpster and associated
removal service.
