ABERDEEN TO INITIALLY REBUILD SEVEN ROADS IN 2006
ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP, N.J.
(2/27/06) – Aberdeen Township has
scheduled reconstruction projects for seven roads this year in a
continuation of the Roadway Master Plan adopted by the municipality
in 1997.
Full reconstruction projects
are on the agenda for calendar 2006 for Atlantic Avenue, Belle
Place, Brookview Lane, Idaho Lane, Invar
Place, Italic Place, and Newland Place, according to Jim Lauro, the
township’s Director of Public Works. Work on the first of the
projects is scheduled to commence in early spring, with all streets
expected to be completed by the fall. The total cost for reconstructing
the six streets is $2.08 million.
Residents on the affected streets will receive notification regarding
parking restrictions and access prior to the commencement of each
project, Lauro noted.
All work will be performed by F. Montecalvo Contracting, Keasby,
NJ, which was the winning bidder.
In approximately six weeks, the muncipality expects to go out to
bid on a second set of road reconstruction projects also scheduled
to commence construction in 2006, according to Stuart Brown, Township
Manager.
