ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP EXPECTED TO START SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING IN APRIL;
EXISTING RULES AND SCHEDULES REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL THEN

            ABERDEEN, N.J. (1/11/2012)—Aberdeen Township is expected to launch single stream recycling starting April 1 when the contract with a new trash hauler is scheduled to take effect. The current contract with Future Sanitation, recycling rules and schedule, and bulk pickup procedures will remain in effect until that time.

With the advent of single-stream recycling, homeowners will enjoy the benefits of having all recyclables picked up at curbside twice a month instead of the current once-a-month pick-up of bottles, cans and plastics, followed by newspapers, mixed paper and cardboard two weeks later.  Regular trash pick-up will remain on the same twice-weekly schedule.

According to Aberdeen Public Works Director Bob Brady, residents will also be able to continue to drop off their recyclables at the Public Works Garage on Lenox Rd., off Cliffwood Ave., Monday through Saturday, from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m., and at the Aberdeen Town Hall parking lot on the 3rd Saturday of each month from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
