Responsibilities
Aberdeen Township operates over 70 miles of gravity sewer mains and 15 pumping sewage stations.
All sewage collected is pumped to Bayshore Regional Sewage Authority (BRSA). The sewer division is vigilant about keeping excess flows out of the sewer system.
Ways You Can Help
All residents can help the town run a more efficient system and help keep costs down by following the following:
- Sump pumps roof leaders are a problem when they are tied into the sanitary sewer system. All excess water that is pumped to BRSA is paid for by the rate payers. By keeping the excess flows out of the system the Township is able to keep prices down
- Grease in the sewer system is also a problem. By not putting grease in the system less blockages will occur in the system and less grease will build up in the pump stations
